Step 1: 

Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile data) > Add Cellular (or Mobile Plan)


Step 2:

Scan the QR code or enter code manually 


Step 3:

Label your eSIM for better identification and management 

E.g. Travel_(Destination)


Step 4:

Choose a plan as a default line that you'll use for calling and texting.


Step 5:

Choose a plan that you want to use with iMessage and FaceTime.


Step 6:

Set your US Mobile eSIM as a default cellular (or mobile data) line.  

Be sure to turn off “Allow mobile data switching” to avoid high roaming bills on your primary data plan. 


Step 7:

Now you should see your new eSIM under your Cellular Data (or Mobile Data) Plans. 

When you arrive at your destination, be sure to turn on your eSIM line. 

Go to settings > Cellular (or Mobile data) > Select your eSIM line > Turn on this line
